Jenna Ortega Admits Fear and Excitement Returning for Wednesday Season 2
Jenna Ortega Discusses Her “Terrifying” Return for Wednesday Season 2
Production for the highly anticipated Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday is in full swing. Fans are eager to see what’s next for the iconic character, Wednesday Addams, but series star Jenna Ortega recently revealed that returning for the new season was a daunting experience.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ortega admitted she was “terrified” to step back into the role. The long gap since filming the first season, which took place two to three years ago in Romania, contributed to her anxiety.
“I was a little terrified just because it had been years since we shot the first one,” Ortega shared. “I think I was overthinking it. But as soon as you put on Colleen Atwood’s costumes, get hair and makeup done, and take all the expression out of your face, it’s like, ‘Oh, okay. I know how to do this.’”
Ortega’s New Role as Producer Adds Excitement
Ortega also talked about her new role as a producer for Season 2, which has allowed her to make creative decisions that she finds “exciting.”
“I get to decide how blue somebody’s going to be, where the brains go on the floor, what prosthetics look like,” she said. “It’s so much fun, actually.”
Will Season 2 Feature Another Viral Dance Sequence?
One of the standout moments from the first season was the viral dance sequence that captivated fans. However, when asked if Season 2 would feature a similar moment, Ortega said she’s not aware of any plans for a dance scene yet, as only a few episodes have been filmed so far.
“Oh, my God, not that I’m aware of,” she told Extra. “I’m not looking ahead at the schedule; I fear maybe I’ll see something.”
Despite the uncertainty, Ortega teased that the new season will have memorable scenes that fans will love.
With the combination of Ortega’s return, her expanded role as producer, and the high expectations set by the first season, Wednesday Season 2 is shaping up to be an exciting continuation of the beloved series.
