Authorities recovered a pamphlet from the Madded area committee of Maoists at the scene. The pamphlet accused Sukra of being a police informer since 2017, which led to her tragic fate.
Search Operation Launched
The police have initiated a search operation to identify and apprehend the Naxalites responsible for the abduction and killing. This violent act is part of an ongoing series of attacks by Naxalites in the Bastar division, which includes Bijapur and six other districts.
Rising Violence in Bastar Division
So far this year, Naxalites have killed more than 60 people in the Bastar division. On December 6, they killed an Anganwadi assistant in Basaguda, accusing her of being a police informer. Additionally, on December 4, two former sarpanchs (village heads) were killed under similar suspicions in Bijapur.
Authorities’ Response
The ongoing violence continues to impact the region, and security forces are working to mitigate the threat posed by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh.
